Description of an extraordinary family!
This is a story about a family. The family who keeps on growing and growing. Like in every other family conflicts sometimes occur. Nevertheless this family has one big spirit, one large feeling of being one and becoming one over and over again, each Sunday afternoon. Last Sunday I saw this family, each one of them amusing himself in the park. This is a picture you don't see quite often anymore these days. Nowadays people are being locked up inside, trying to beat their virtual friends in one or another violent game. I have to admit that such a game is quite fun sometimes, but what if we all keep locking ourselves up behind this screen?
The point is that we are lucky, very lucky that we're all member of this large family. Some of us already more than 18 years. Think about it. Express yourselves, have fun, have the greatest time of your life. Keep on coming every Sunday afternoon. Convince others to join this family, I even think it has a name. Chiro, at least that's what some Belgian guy told me. I think I'm going to change something in my life, taste some fresh air, make some new friends and collect memories to think about in the future. I think I'm starting to love this family.

Ik vond dit een prachtige anderstalige tekst die een mooie beschrijving geeft van het hele chiro-gebeuren.
De vergelijking die hij maakt met een grote familie, is volgens mij net hetzelfde.
Chiro is een gemeenschap van vrienden van verschillende leeftijden die met elkaar plezier beleven, maar ook al eens onderling een strubbeling hebben.
De kinderen kunnen zorgeloos spelen, terwijl de ouderen (leiding) instaan voor de meer zakelijke en opvoedende taken, maar toch samen met hun "kroost" plezier beleven.
